Hey! I’m Maria Mohamed.

When my family and I moved to the U.S., we brought our Mexican and Palestinian traditions with us- along with the challenge of learning how to belong in a new culture.

Growing up, I often found myself noticing how different people’s stories, values, and ways of seeing the world could be. That curiosity stayed with me and eventually became part of why I was drawn to this work.

Over time, I came to believe that real healing doesn’t come from changing who we are- it comes from being truly seen and accepted. Today, diversity isn’t just something I value; it’s part of who I am and how I understand people.

In my work, I strive to create a space where every part of you is welcome- your gender identity, sexual orientation, cultural background, spiritual beliefs, relationship structure, and lived experiences- so you can show up as you are and begin to feel more at home in yourself and in your relationships.

My work is grounded in safety, vulnerability and intentional growth.

Attachment-based therapy

My work is grounded in an attachment-based approach to therapy, which means I focus on how our emotional experiences and relationships shape the way we see ourselves, connect with others, and respond to stress. I draw primarily from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help individuals and couples understand the emotional patterns that keep them feeling stuck or disconnected.

With individuals, I also integrate principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to support emotional awareness, values-based decision making, and flexibility in how you relate to your thoughts and feelings. In my couples work, I may integrate Imago to offer practical communication skills that support deeper understanding, connection, and repair.

Across all of my work, the goal to help you slow things down enough to create emotional safety. Together, we’ll explore what’s happening beneath the surface- your emotions, thoughts, needs, and patterns- so you can respond to yourself and others with more clarity, compassion, and intention.

My style is warm, gentle, and collaborative. I walk alongside you as we make sense of experiences that may have felt overwhelming, confusing, or hard to verbalize.

Healing happens when we feel safe enough to slow down, be open about our inner world, and reach out for connection- to ourselves and the people we care about.
